Priority Freight handles kit for Rugby World Cup
This year’s Rugby World Cup competition was of extra interest to staff at Priority Freight, as the company was responsible for shipping the team strips and other vital equipment between France, Cardiff and Edinburgh.
Priority Freight was commissioned by the International Rugby Board (IRB) to handle the shipping of vital sports equipment and team-specific kit between the competition’s French venues and the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff and the hallowed turf of Murrayfield in Edinburgh.
Comments George Williams, Chairman of Priority Freight, “Timecritical deliveries are all in a day’s work for us, but England’s surprise success in the tournament certainly added extra excitement to this particular project. It was Denys Couleard, Director of our Paris office, who masterminded the arrangements. We used our own and partners vehicles for this work and the IRB was happy that everything was delivered safely and on time; Denys received a personal letter of thanks for his achievements. Although England knocked France out in the semi-finals, Denys – a patriotic Frenchman – was generous in agreeing that it was a shame that South Africa went home with the trophy!”
