Brand new storage facilities at Dover
Priority Freight has just opened new offices and storage facilities – totalling over 15,000 sq ft – at its Dover headquarters.
The firm has invested over £450,000 in the new warehouse and operations centre, providing the facilities required for the next stage of the company’s growth. By adding the new building, the firm has doubled its footprint at its site in Menzies Road, Port Zone, and now has the capacity to double the number of employees in its sales and logistics department. In addition, the operations centre has been ergonomically designed, resulting in a more comfortable and spacious working environment. Says Paul Moore, Business Development Manager, “The warehouse would be perfect for storing line-side stocks for a manufacturing company that embraces just-in-time production and does not want to waste valuable manufacturing space by having on-site storage. Alternatively,” continues Paul, “it would be ideal for port users that have time-critical transhipment needs. If a haulier has, say, one pallet on board that requires urgent transhipment, we can offload the pallet and take care of it.”
Plans are underway to make the Dover site totally secure, allowing Priority Freight to offer secure parking to other transport companies. Explains Paul Moore, “We’ve invested over £50,000 in a new CCTV system and – due to our business needs – the site is always manned, 24 hours a day Brand-new storage and 7 days a week.”
